Crazy to look at how some people’s careers from that writer’s group blew up — Derek Kolstad (creator/writer of John wick, think he wrote 2 and 3 also) probably was the one who had the most success though.

My sister is 50 years old and recently diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. She had part of her colon removed and now has to live with a colostomy bag. She also can’t walk or stand due to a doctor’s mistake and she probably never will again. Thanks to our amazing fucking healthcare system in the fucking U S of A, she often cannot get the things she needs to make this apparatus function properly. So sometimes her bag overflows and it smells really, really, really bad. The stench will fill a room. it’s humiliating for my sister and everyone who has to clean her up. I subscribe to this pod because I love to laugh which happens very infrequently these days. Maybe a cameraman accidentally shat his pants after a long day but maybe it was someone with a medical condition after a long day who had no other option.

It’s always just social justice warriors and white knights who feel the need to rah-rah against racism (apparently everything is racist and it’s racist to point out how bad violence in the black community has gotten), trans, homeless — any disenfranchised group apparently needs us to save them. Because these people assume they can’t take care of themselves — irony being that they are the ones being racist and treating these groups like children. Rant over! Movie on.

2024-02-05 17:27:59 +0000 UTCThis had some cool moments that would have worked even better in theaters, but other than that, I did not like it. Alien looked incredibly dumb and not intimidating at all imo. Off the top of my head (and barring the obvious ones like Alien and Predator), Signs did a somewhat traditional looking alien, but also made them very scary and menacing. You felt like they wanted to hurt you.
