December Episode One - May December

It's a torrid tale of a strange and icky romance in this Todd Haynes flick that's so twisted it makes his past movies look like after school specials! Let's dish on May December!

Feel like Joe never does a movie corner anymore because he isn’t watching a lot but this is a movie review podcast? Instead we get 20 minutes on how the new ben shapiro produced adam corolla comedy is a sign that the world is healing

Found the parallel of the husband with his father and son interesting. He’s desperately trying to connect with both. He smokes a cig with his dad trying to have a convo about his kids going to college. Then later, smokes a joint with his son and tries to convey his love for him. Movie did a good job making that character sympathetic without being a victim or schmaltz.

Like pat unfortunatley seems to do.

I’ll wash that corn bread down with a nice cool glass of almond milk.

Haha yup, and we love it every time! Have some corn bread.

It is impossible for Pat to not do the the Sam Elliott impression whenever he’s brought up.

Joe - loved what you said about left/right BS. Very open minded and I love hearing viewpoints like yours in this “our team/your team” era. I hate it when people hate someone solely because of their politics and protect others bc of their politics. It’s very obvious, very juvenile and very unsophisticated.

Great ep. The pre-movie prolonged chats in the beginning are always my favorite part. In regards to the intro, at this point, we can skip the music, don’t ya think? Just hop right into it, low energy (or high) and all 😆

To answer Pat's question, 'skinamarink' references a song from the Canadian group Sharon, Lois and Bram. They sang kids' songs and hosted a TV show in the 80s

Time to binge these two eps, then be depressed for the next two weeks and blame it on the boys for not making enough content.
