February Ep 4 - Movies That Make Us Cry

The titles of the ep says it all, folks! Plus, it reveals a twist: Pat and Joe have emotions outside of anger and dejection! We each talk five flicks that make us bawl like babies, and perhaps mildly overshare in the process! Here we go! Let the waterworks begin!

I choose and have always chosen Matthau over Lemon.

Msmaynaise

What a great episode. Thanks boys.

Tanner Rollins

Btw, if you guys do an episode where you both sob for the duration of the podcast, I’d be thrilled to listen and join in and let it all out. How freeing would that be? Let the film talk take a break for an ep this month. Let us all weep together

For me it’s Babe. I love that movie so much and I cried as hard as I’ve cried since I was a baby when I randomly threw it on a couple years back. I can’t bring myself to watch it again because it’s just so pure but it’s just a wonderful movie. I never saw the sequel Pig in the City, but I’ve heard that is even better than the original. Go Babe ❤️

Raffi N

100% started crying when Pat started crying …10/10

Jamie Luna

I love these guys even more now, bastards!!

Chris simmonds

Oof, glad I didn’t listen to this at work. My father died less than a year ago, after decades of having a rough relationship with him. Any father-child drama is an even bigger trigger for me now because there’s no going back to fix things. This was an incredible episode. Thanks, guys.

Anna Valencia

Yeah uncle buck and about Schmidt get me.

Larkin Hill

Ahemmm…I think you forgot somebody???

Larkin Hill

Might be the best episode ever. Up there with Doctor strange. Royal Tenenbaums gets me every time too.

Gregfoot

Absolute classic

Ian

And gotta agree with will glasco. U guys truly bring a genuine and personal feel to the pod. Love u both for it

Lee Ellis

This one was perfect. Made me forget about complaining about the lack of horror on the last sode

Lee Ellis

This will be on my list of podcasts that made me cry.

Michael Whitsett

What a great episode. You guys getting choked up got me choked up. A fun one for me is that I kinda don't care about sports, but sports movies can surprisingly get the waterworks going.

Luke P

Damn. What an episode, guys. Loved it!

Amanda

What a wonderful episode. So many other podcasts feel formulaic, and the hosts like pundits on early-aughts television. Pat and Joe are the absolute best and bring the heat every show. I wish them so much success, but selfishly worry they’ll make it so big in their careers that they won’t have time for this anymore.

Will Glasco

Speaking of Jack Lemmon - You should check out "Days of Wine and Roses" if you haven't seen it already. Lemmon in a non comedic role but his performance will blow you away!

Reuben B.

How much for a video stream I’d pay $50 a month to watch Pat pick things out of us coffee and Joe cry

Eric La Mora

I really love you guys. I just realized in this episode that my dear estranged friend took me to see Manchester by the Sea in theaters as a way for me to try to understand his diagnosis with clinical depression. My heart rips and I cry alongside you. You're truly my favorite podcast, and I'm honored to exist in the timeline that we share.

Samuel Kidwell

I love you guys so much. 😭 ❤️

John Wendt

Love ya Patty. Little Miss Sunshine comes to mind for me. Nearly every scene that's played for comedy just gutted me in that movie. Never want to watch it again.

cam235

Damn! That was like a confessional. John Hughes is my teary jam. The end of Uncle Buck does it every time. The old guy and his son at the end of Home Alone, Some Kind of Wonderful, even Cameron staring at the painting in Ferris will bring on the waterworks. That was a great episode!

Bob Uzaka

This is what we call a breakthrough

Mat

Amazing episode. I was driving through the worst rainstorm in LA’s history (?), wiping the tears from my eyes faster than the wipers wiped the rain from my windshield. A lot of fun!

Scott

About Schmidt is one of those rare movies that hits me as hard in the feelers as it does.

Larkin Hill

I got a ridiculous one. Christmas vacation. I had to make Christmas happen for my two young daughters with no mom for the first time and at the end when he says “I did it” . My god man. The kids were in bed happy and I was alone in the dark tipsy seeing it for the millionth time … but that time. Niagara Falls franky angel

John Wolferd

Moneyball gets me as well…. I’m from Oakland, when he looks out at the container cranes in the sunset it breaks me!

Maxwell Ashcroft

We need more episodes like this! You guys are killing me today.

Rebecca Burge

Goddamnit Pat! There’s a reason I haven’t watched The Royal Tenenbaums in years, because I knew it would ruin me. Your narrative has me welling up, and I may lose it too. One of my favourites as well. Edit: still half way through the pod, but one that’s guaranteed to make me tear up is Moneyball, numerous times.

Graham Cassidy

This episode was so sweet guys ❤️

Will Pottorff

Waking Ned Devine does it for me every time. The Way with Emilio and Martin Sheen is another
