A revamp of Patreon
Added 2020-06-02 23:46:25 +0000 UTCCheers gang.
I want to first thank you for your continued support.
Second, I want to talk a bit about the Patreon and what will happen going forward.
When I started this process, I must admit I had no idea what it would end up looking like. I think it's worked out very well, but I also think there has been a few mistakes with what people wanted to get, what I wanted to do and what turned out to be viable and possible.
But the process of living is the process of learning, so I am going to revamp things a bit and hopefully things will be a lot clearer. I think this will also be better adapted to what people actually want.
* The goal is 3 new "pieces of content" each month for Five Klicks, Five Parsecs and Five Leagues respectively.
This can be an enemy pack, a couple of new characters, a pack with new rules etc.
This will be free to users at the 5+ dollar mark and can be purchased normally by everybody else.
* Rules updates and patches will continue as they do now. This was and still is the primary reason for the Patreon to exist.
* Each month, I'll make something from the back catalogue available at a 5 dollar discount to 1/5 dollar Patrons and for free to 10+ dollar Patrons.
* I will continue to share beta tests, previews, snippets of old projects that didn't make it etc.
I've heard a few people express dislike of these since they feel they "take the slot" of a proper new item. I dont feel this is the case. They are simply bonus stuff I share because I think you may find it to be of interest.
You will notice that the above only addresses tiers of support up to 10 dollars. This is intentional for now. Higher amounts allow you to provide additional support and encouragement, which helps things like hire on outsider writers for projects (a mess of things are in the works behind the scenes), more time I can spend with fan email, reviewing old rules for updates etc.
I hope the new tiers and the new expectations are clearer and more straight-forward. If not, ask away.
I hope nobody is disappointed with these changes and once again, I appreciate you all for believing and supporting.
You may notice Renegade Scout is not mentioned. This is intentional. I am working on two expansion packs (the tech guide and a big unit builder pack) that may have big effects on how Renegade Scout material is created. As such, I don't want to create new content that would potentially be obsoleted.
