January 2021 Update

Hey all!

As you may have noticed, there's currently no content from me in January. I also still need to publish the next chapter of Opportunities for Development and the Audiobook for December.

This is the furthest behind I've been since I started and it's painful. There are reasons I can see as to why my creative flame seems to have burnt out and needs relighting -

1) My mothers cancer diagnosis in September - She's now very much on the mend and feeling better after a bout of radiotherapy but this probably was the clearest start point I can see for where I began to struggle

2) The hit the Patreon numbers took during that month - I went from over 100 to 75 in a month and that definitely hurt my motivation and drive after hitting the 100 mark and feeling so good about that in July

3) Omicron kicking in throwing everyone into a new state of heightened anxiety over catching it.

4) Started a new job in November, with all the focus and anxiety over postive impact that comes with drawing my brain away from writing.

5) Christmas plans being cancelled at the last minute due to changes in travel rules in Europe, as my parents live in France while I'm in the UK.

In the space of 3 months it really did feel like a substantial amount of momentum and positivity that had come over some of the previous ones was suddenly and crushingly halted. My mood was so up and down over that period that part of me is glad to only be one story and an audiobook behind in spite of it. It feels like a managable delay, which is a silver lining.

What I want to reassure you all of is that I am working to try to resolve this. Where I can I'm trying to structure my workload and get back into the groove in several areas. I'm streaming again every day (www.twitch.tv/jimmywolfgaming if you'd like to give me a follow) to get that back on the rails. I've had three runs at the audiobook recording for Decembers piece, and while I'm not happy with any of them, they're better each time.

If I can get OfD published and the audiobook by the end of this week I'll be back up to speed and that's my current aim.
