2023-05-04 00:49:25 +0000 UTC(brandon:) I don't recall the diatribe but the issue with playboy isn't its existence, it's the implied nature of these characters - obviously they can't consent to being in the magazine because they're not real, which kind of makes me feel some weird feelings about the rights of digital IP? and the only reason they're in there is because a company paid for them to be, regardless of what their character is actually like, so it's just kind of a gross way for it to happen. Women being in playboy is totally fine, is a choice, etc - but for these characters it's a cynical-feeling marketing ploy, and that's the stuff that makes us feel weird about it. (or me, anyway!!)

Tim: listen to ep283 with the Necrosoft girls making -a million- sex jokes. It’s ok to enjoy things! Playboy existing is not the end of the world, and didn’t need a 5 minute condescending diatribe. Interesting how women were so open about enjoying their sexuality in 283 - but the all male panel in this episode got somewhat flummoxed by the mere mention of playboy

You seem to have some good suggestions for horror cinema! If you don't want to share that account then that's cool but I figured I'd ask!
