I don't understand the prompt of "wouldn't make a good main channel video" because Jenny's channel doesn't really fall under any particular niche, so literally any topic could theoretically make a good main channel video.

I never vote for the ‘Jenny picks a topic’ topics because I remember how much I hated being told to ‘write about whatever you want!’ in school rather than being given a topic to talk about haha. Obviously a lot of youtubers’ content is them writing about whatever they want, but there’s a big difference between having a bunch of potentially interesting ideas that you can work on over an extended period of time versus having a single choice with a deadline like with these rambles. Idk I’m sure it’s fine but to me picking a thing to ramble about is a big part of the work of doing the ramble and we’re literally passing our one job back to the person who assigned it to us lmao. edit: oh and also it seems a little mean to the people who've been submitting a topic they're really keen to see for months on end haha, but I guess that's not really a fair complaint

That's a little bit of a blunt description of how Jenny approached things. It wasn't "I don't like this;" it was "I don't pick the topics ... they aren't always from within my psyche." https://youtu.be/lnzstg58xlA I think the point was that the prompt suggestion might not be particularly suggestive of any movie, or even any type of movie (because all movies might be suitable for the channel). But the bigger point is that Jenny as ever took that suggestion, interpreted it, and ran with it - I've seen enough prompts now to know that's likely to happen whatever wins: it'll be dealt with entertainingly and almost-always surprisingly even if we're imagining it's something Jenny might not favour. (That surprise is important in two main ways: firstly it's very entertaining to be surprised! 😲😁 and secondly it just underlines that as always in these YouTube situations, if we think we 'know' Jenny, we don't.) Anyway it's maybe worth bearing in mind that we vote on <b>prompts</b> for <b>rambles</b> ... they're just starting points, and Jenny always makes sure that wherever we set off from, we always end up somewhere good 🥳

To be honest, while I have quite a few friends who liked Lady Bird a lot, I... didn't. And I kind of get the feeling that this wouldn't have come up as a potential topic if people's impressions were that Jenny would just say "Lady Bird! Love it! I agree with everything everybody's saying about it!" So, following this chain of reasoning, I'm very curious to hear what Jenny DOES think of it... even if I'm wrong and she loves it unequivocally. Basically, if there's enough there to have caught Jenny's attention in one way or another, it's sure to be a fascinating take from her, whatever she says.

The Case for Lady Bird, Explained Jenny is currently ranking animated Barbie movies. A live action Barbie movie is also currently in the works, in the script phase of development. I wouldn't be interested in a Barbie movie except that it's being directed and co-written by Greta Gerwig, the writer and director of Lady Bird, one of the most unique movies of all time. Though its premise is nothing new (high school teenager coming-of-age), the style of its writing and its editing is unlike any other movie that's ever been made. Even if you don't vote for the topic, I recommend you see it. With the tier list video and a hypothetical Lady Bird video, we could get a lot of insight into Jenny's thought process before the live action movie comes out. It would be like watching the movie with Jenny. Everyone else from the Lady Bird flock please share any other reasons why you think people should vote for Lady Bird.
