(brandon:) the callisto protocol team will be happy to hear someone likes their combat I bet! and to me those graphics aren't worth much if you can't interact with them and there's invisible walls all over. the greater the visual fidelity the more I feel I should be able to "do what I want" (eg hop over a low line of rubble)

(brandon:) I would say they're weirder

uh oh! (Tim voice) guess we disagree about Callisto Protocol. Sure, it's bog standard story stuff, but it has those graphics and I love the combat. It scratches that Punch-Out itch for me and later on in the game it layers in more abilities. The game provides you with some ridiculous arenas to fight in, so you end up using the force to fling mutants into giant wood chipper things and spikes which is silly and fun.

Are Babylon's Fall shaders as weird as Tales of Arise shaders? It was like they wanted to give up their style after Genshin stole it but just put a Photoshop emboss filter over everything. As for Pokemon, a fun game to play is to spot all the places they put in Japanese stuff like nurse's offices even though the game is set in Spain.

Best wishes, Alex! Hope you're back home and doing fine soon. So many games! Like you said- this is why you're doing the podcast and people like me are not. Thanks for another great episode, everyone. Enjoyed the conversations and extended my wishlist of things to investigate.

Dustin Reno

Glad to hear Norco brought up! I kinda forgot it came out last year, but it’s a great game

Evil West plays like a Gears Of War Brawler put through a DmC with… mixed to positive results.

have you ever wondered what would happen of soul2soul performed in seoul, they'd have to call it soul2soul2seoul

2 random thoughts - I've put in a total of something like 300 hrs between Splatoon 2 and 3 just using stick controls and I was only inspired somewhat recently to just give motion/gyro controls a second chance. Just 20 some hours later and now I can't go back! I played a different shooter after and found myself moving my controller around like a first-timer playing a racing game lol. - That soul/Seoul joke is dumb (like all good puns), but I thought the exact same thing and I'm happy Tim jumped on that =P

Despite the circumstances of a Jaffe-less episode you guys conjured up some really great conversation. Love these loose episodes. Thanks as always and get well soon, Jaffe!

(brandon:) it made me too mad, if I want my mediocre RPG fix I'll go back to harvestella! (which I in fact have, lol)

The second Voice of Cards is pretty good. Not sure if it'd change your mind since I haven't gotten to the third yet. It has a better narrator than the first. It's a 7/10 game, one for right before bedtime.
