❄️ DECEMBER WUGDATE ❄️

I bet you thought I was gonna forget about sending out the monthly wugdate because of our exciting announcement this morning. . . WELL THINK AGAIN! Because I would never forget about y'all or my one time each month I'm allowed to spill the beans on all the G&G secrets that I can remember at the time of writing this!

We definitely still can't believe that we are officially a part of the Rusty Quill network as of today. This announcement has been in the works for about 3 months now, and it has been TOUGH not being able to make a peep to y'all about any of it. We take joining a network very seriously, even though they don't impact our creative process or have any ownership of the podcast itself. So after the Rusty Quill team passed all of our rigorous questioning about monster vomit and a 100 page pop quiz about Frogmont facts, we knew they were the right fit for us!

Hmmm. . . what else happened this past month. . . OH! Here's the quick run down of what we got up to. The Gals got to attend the wedding of our lovely live show and Goblin Mode guest, Katy Wiggins. We volunteered at The Nest, an afterschool program for high schoolers, to finish out their D&D session from October. I am happy to report that the group defeated the Headless Horseman by using teamwork and a little bit of friendship! We are already scheduled to volunteer once a month throughout the spring to keep playing D&D with them, which we are very excited about. I won a fancy theatre award called a B. Iden Payne for my Makeup & Hair Design on a show about fairies. We played a one pager called Goblin Prom to release for our January Goblin Mode. I got to play on a Daggerheart stream hosted by Breakthrough T1D to help raise money for Type 1 Diabetes research. Huge shoutout to all the wugs who tuned and donated during the stream!! We also packed up 12 orders from our crazy holiday sale, so another huge thank you to everyone who bought merch this past Saturday!!

And I think that's all of the little stuff we did? Who knows? 🤷‍♀️

Lilly was at PAX Unplugged in November and got to meet so many Wugs as she worked at the Many Worlds Tavern booth! After hearing her rave reviews of this convention, we already have it on our calendar to go to as a full group next year.

We also FINISHED recording our mini campaign that will launch in February this month and guys. . . I have to be honest. . . this shit is so good. You're not ready for what's about to hit you when it releases!! And maybe we might be releasing a lil teaser of the first 10 minutes at the end of this year as a treat. I've also made the executive decision right now that I get to tell you exactly what it is!

Since Jared wanted to take a brief hiatus to cook up more emotionally damaging stories for our main campaign, we decided to call in our good friend Dane Parker to be guest GM on the show. You may recognize his name from the Gabbin' With The Gals episode about the Vampire the Masquerade game that we play or as our livestream guy from the G&G live show this June. The Gals wanted to play something a little darker than our main campaign and try out a new TTRPG system over multiple episodes, so we decided to play Blades in the Dark!!! In January, we will start dropping details about each of our characters, including some juicy playlists that we have been working on for months. These episodes are also a bit longer than our average Main Campaign ones because we had a lot of story packed into only 4 (or 5 if you count the session zero) sessions. Below I have attached a photo of me after our 6 HOUR recording of the finale and the clocks I was determined to complete, but I have redacted their titles to keep it spoiler free for everyone:

Speaking of this mystical hiatus that we are taking, I want to break down what that will look like in terms of episode releases! We are going to drop a short explanation of this on the main podcast feed at the end of the month with a little teaser of our mini-campaign, but I want to give y'all all the details early. There will be no main feed episode drops starting December 24th through the end of January. 😭 Never fear though! Since you are subscribed to our Patreon, you will still receive all of your regularly scheduled bonus content throughout January! Starting on the first Wednesday of February, we will be dropping each episode of our Blades in the Dark mini-campaign weekly. Since February is also our anniversary month of the beginning of Gals & Goblins, we have decided to return to our original insane release schedule of dropping an episode every Wednesday and a Mission Debrief (that's what we're calling the study breaks for the mini-campaign) every Friday. So you'll get double the episodes in February to hopefully make up for our month long hiatus in January. Then, our main campaign will be back with Episode #74 on March 11th!

We have one last treat planned for you in December. We are hosting a livestream Q&A on Saturday, December 20th at 12:00 PM CST, and we'll be answering all of your questions about the main campaign, the upcoming break, the mini-campaign, or whatever other random things you want ask us. Anywhoooo, I want you all to know that you are cherished members of our Wug community and we wouldn't be able to do all of these cool things if it wasn't for each and every one of you. I know that winter can sometimes be a tough time for various reasons, so I hope that our silly voices and crazy episodes can make you feel even a little bit cozier and loved during this cold season!! And I think 2026 might just be the year of expanding our Wug empire bigger than we ever could have imagined. . . 🐸
