Glad to see Shawn out of the doghouse lmao. Also I’m sorry but I think I actively hated this album. There is nothing on here that does it for me and I kind of just wanted it to end the whole time. 0/5, sorry Tom

Good Jacob DeGrom joke, Shawn.

I like a lot of Tom Petty's songs, but I found this album to be okay. Here Comes My Girl is my favorite song on this album. It has a great feeling to it. I agree with you guys that the album has a great start, I like the first 4 songs, but after that to me it falls off after that.

Happy to help in any way! Hoping for a speedy recovery for you!

Ok I can totally hear where you’re coming from with “whoop that ass!” I agree, I love hearing other misheard lyrics - especially the way wacky ones!

"You don't have to live in an apple tree" is really funny hahaha I love hearing people talk about song lyrics that they misheard. For the longest time I thought that in the song Whoomp! (There It Is) by Tag Team that they were actually saying, "Whoop that ass!"

Hope you get well soon!

Though I know Dylan’s cultural impact and musical impact are bigger, I always think of Petty as a better sounding Dylan lol. A great album overall would agree with both y’all. I always enjoy with there’s a guest who is really into the album or song that ep, was fun having Jennie on. Can’t wait for RAM, huge Daft Punk fan personally. Hope Rocco will join and interested in Shawn’s thoughts.

I don't know how to feel about Tom Petty. While I recognize the talent, his voice and music is really hit and miss for me. Which is funny because I do enjoy Bob Dylan who is definitely a good comparison vocally. Idk. I thought this was a solid album though. Don't Do Me Like That is definitely my favorite as well, and the one Petty song I've always really loved. Shadow of a Doubt and Louisiana Rain are cool too. I Wanna Dance With Somebody is obviously amazing. Truly a song that deserves to be on the greatest songs of all time list. My biggest take away from this episode though is that Jennie is an Oingo Boingo fan!! Hell yeah!!! One of my favorite bands of all time and I've only ever heard Bryan and Jennie say they were into them lol for some reason I thought they would be bigger in SoCal, but I guess that was a long time ago when they were really popular Looking forward to Random Access Memories!

Learning J. Geils Band almost got “Don’t Do Me Like That” makes soooo much sense because it does sound a little like “Centerfold!” What Are You Doing In My Life and Even the Losers were my favorites. When I was little and before I knew the song was called Refugee, I thought he was singing “you don’t have to live in an apple tree” which is remarkably dumb in retrospect. I listened to a couple of pre-Torpedoes songs between this album and wow Iovine’s production is mighty nice. Crazy how prolific he was for a while! Always love to see Jennie!!!aaaaand excited for next week, Touch is just phenomenal. Paul Williams is the best! Phantom of the Paradise is required viewing lol
