Open Guard Retention Basics: Staying in Good Position and What To Do with Your Legs and Arms (applies to gi & nogi)

These are the main tips for maintaining good guard retention and staying in good position when playing open guard off your back. Use this in gi or nogi, and your guard will improve so so much! Remember: once your feet or "laser beams" are facing your partner, you're then safe to pull them with your arms into your controls and attacks! Btw, we are on holiday this week, so there won't be a class to film this week, but stay tuned for next week's class and more fire content! Yeewwwwww

While preparing for competitions, we avoid eating gluten, added sugars, fried foods, etc! For cutting weight its a similar thing but counting your daily macros as well. We recommend talking to a nutritionist for big weight cuts. & During off-season or on holiday we definitely like to indulge on all types of food, including some fast food lol.
