New version is in testing.
Added 2024-02-23 18:58:20 +0000 UTCSo, a few weeks later than planned due to illness running rampant through my house, but version 0.3.2 is now officially in alpha testing!
I do need to temper expectations on this one, though. A lot of things that people have been asking for are not here, and my list of stuff to do in the next version is huge, but I'll give you guys a quick overview of what IS coming in this release.
- The Goddess of Time has some much overdue love in the form of a series of hidden scenes, and some additional story content that will eventually branch out into other Gods. Specifically, Auris, the Goddess of War.
- Auto-Battle has been added.
- Combat has been entirely revamped, with new balance updates for monsters, leveling, and general combat stats.
- Lani's sneak content has been expanded (2 new scenes).
- There are some new recipes.
- There have been some changes to make it easier to get Lani's night clothes (to unlock the additional sneak options).
- The menus in battle have been updated. Enemy levels are visible, player sprites now show damage, and there's a description when the player selects skills (to allow you to see what you're doing and make informed decisions).
Literally everything else I did has been backend coding stuff. The game now loads all objects (items, recipes, enemies, quests, locations, skills, etc) using external files (*.tsv). This makes it easier for me to make alterations, and also for the players at large to make alterations. For example, if you feel like you want enemies to give more experience, all you need to do is open up the 'enemies.tsv' file as a spreadsheet and change the values in the 'xp' column (assuming you're not playing Android... editing these things is much harder on Android). Open up the game again, and your new values will be in there, easy as pie.
This is a change that has been needed for a very long time, but it required a comprehensive review of almost all of the code. The longer I delayed it, the longer the eventual process became, so I bit the bullet and did it for this update.
There's no way for me to really guess how soon all of the bugs will be ironed out, but I'm hoping the final version will be out the door to you guys in the next week or two.

Alpha testing is about to hit version 4 (which means close to nothing, I know). I was hoping to finish before my kids hit spring break, but I failed (we're out of town right now). It'll be next week.
