As I mentioned in the most recent devlog, this is an update that's centered around Marla, with a small helping of additional content for Lani's camp scenes. I'm also apparently giving the chicken a pretty good overhaul, and there are a few new scenes for Kermit.
Let's see, other things of note... I've reworked a lot of the daily interactions and attempted to balance out rewards to ensure that no characters or interactions are a waste of player time (for example, Marla used to give no rewards for most interactions).
I do have some notes of caution on this one, though. I've consolidated a lot of code related to how the game handles the at-home interactions (wake up, mirror, study, practice, etc), so if you have a previous game saved at home in your bedroom, you may encounter an error when you load up this newest version. As always, attempt to either ignore or back up, and it should spit you back out either at night or on the morning of your current day. If you can't seem to get out of the error loop, then let me know either here or on Discord and we'll get you fixed up.
Other than that, this is just an update with a lot of renders... not on the order of some other games that put in thousands or anything, but I've increased the total render count by about 40%, which comes out to something like 220 additional scene renders.
Version 0.2.7 Changelog
Additions:
- Two additional Lani camp scenes.
- Marla content has been entirely replaced. New content includes new sprite character assets, two new rendered story scenes, one rerendered story scene, additional spoken dialogue, and nighttime sneak content.
- Chicken content prior to day 30 has been finished. You can now speak to your father regarding chickens, chicken scenes with Marla are remade, and the chicken can be killed prior to the battle (for much greater rewards).
- Soul Box can now be leveled up to 4.
*** Chicken route (unavailable after day 30 due to chicken mutation) = 30% chance to hunt hens in the evening with Marla starting on Day 1. After 4 hunts, a rooster hunt will be available, but can only be completed if the player has achieved Chicken Immunity. This is a story-based kill, so level/stats are irrelevant. Additional lore and chicken story content is available through interactions with your father in the evenings (50% chance when hunting event is not available). Dialogue and rewards from your father are available after two hens are hunted and change with each additional hen.****
Changes:
- Large numbers are now displayed as human-readable text ('12.3 million' instead of '12380145').
- Player can now sleep during the day to pass time.
- Daily choices have had their rewards rebalanced. As of this update, there are no entirely worthless choices, and some story and lore-related content has stat-boost incentives.
- Studying on your own is now just as effective as studying with your mother, and there is a 20% chance of gaining a revelation to increase your intelligence even further.
- Soul Box status (description, till next level, etc) has been added to the inventory menu.
Corrections:
- Lani's tavern date now requires that she be in your party.
- Chicken is no longer named Clarice.

Note on save compatibility:
The game code responsible for interactions in the player's room has been rewritten. It's possible that these changes may impact loading games that have been saved in the bedroom in previous versions (especially games saved at noon). If you get an error upon load, attempt to back up or ignore it. If further problems persist, let me know in Discord or on Patreon.
