Devlog #17 Winter storms, yo
Added 2021-02-22 21:54:22 +0000 UTCSo, for those of you not in Discord, I live in Austin, Texas. And for those of you that are not really interested in following news (or are from outside of the USA), Texas was out of power and freezing cold for the last week. Actually, we (my house) lost power on the 12th, got it back on the 14th, lost it again on the 15th, and didn't have power at the house again until Thursday the 18th. When we did finally get power, it was 39 degrees (4 degrees Celsius) inside of our kitchen. Downright scary times for the family, and for most of the state of Texas, actually... no power, no running water, grocery stores almost entirely out of food or closed altogether.
And to make it all worse, I couldn't work on the game at all.
Anyway, we have power, the ice and snow is gone like a bad dream, and we're getting back to life as usual. I'm currently working on expanding the enemy variety in the game and adding in some more content for Lani. I think... I think the next update will be in a few weeks. Honestly, I'm not sure how productive I'll be in the short-term, so I think that's a realistic estimate.
On another piece of news, I've been trying to get ahold of the parts to upgrade my work computer to really sort of enter the new computer age and I finally managed to get my hands on a 5950x (at retail price, yay). The rest of the computer is mostly here, but the winter storm disrupted a lot of shipping, so I'm still missing a few pieces. When that arrives and gets put together, I'll give an update on productivity improvements.
