Enjoyed both this and the main episode. When I've thought about this previously, I've arrived at similar conclusions - as much as it would be a nightmare for wildlife, the old Severnside Airport proposals (similar to what you describe at Llanwern, but basically in the Severn Estuary) made a lot of sense to me - having one airport to serve Bristol, Newport and Cardiff, on the Welsh side of the border so that it can be Wales' international airport, ticks a lot of boxes The biggest difference for me is I'd redevelop RAF Church Fenton into Yorkshire's international airport - it's ideally located next to the ECML, the Leeds-York line and eventually HS2, it's the right side of Leeds to serve York, Humberside, Doncaster and Sheffield, and there's plenty of space to expand. Having Manchester as the only airport serving Liverpool, Manchester and most of Yorkshire is probably a bit too much of a stretch, and I do think there is value in building one new airport from scratch to replace several smaller ones. Name it after Amy Johnson too!
