Speed differentials aren’t that great but the Eurostars go 160, Eurotunnel trains go 140 and freight goes up to 120.

2025-08-15 18:44:58 +0000 UTCHi Gareth. I’m a Manchester resident. I used the Eurostar London Amsterdam service recently. It was alright but even using the premier service it was clear that from anywhere other than London it’s very time consuming. Air next time sadly. All the talk of services to destinations further than Paris is irrelevant unless you are there for the journey not the destination. I don’t know what the solution is other than direct high speed links from the provinces to HS1. Maybe overnight charter services run by someone with more money than sense… Thanks for your sterling work. Atb John
