I'm probably very late to comment this but for Chen kaiwen performance I'd really recommend watching the fixed fancam one or practice performance one on boys planet channel. I feel like he probably was nervous bc when u watch the full performance it's actually okay bc in the 2nd half of the performance he hits some notes and does some runs as well. Ofc there's always a place to work on ur voice and vocals bc that's a very important aspect of it but when u watch his full performance overall it really showcases a little different perspective and experience to his stage bc I myself as well had the same reaction as you and then I saw the fixed fancam one of his stage or the practice one on top of it and I was like he's definitely a 3 star

2025-07-25 08:46:06 +0000 UTCThat’s interesting to feel that the story of Jack is about him being bad, I didn’t get that when I was watching, but rather that he’s just a happy kid. I thought Nian and him compliment each other so well, I like both of them :)

They're definitely pushing the narrative that although this is C planet, the show's still about kpop. This also shows in how the trainees under Korean companies are automatically on a higher level than those under Chinese companies. I guess I get it tho. And slay Xiaoting. The first place curse is real fhskdj I also don't remember who sat there in K planet, but they have some bad luck now. I wish the show had some sort of criteria in the finale that the debut group had to be 4-4 split between K and C planet trainees, but I have a feeling it's gonna be more like 6-2 :/ Like you said it's Mnet after all.. I agree that the voting is annoying and I do also wish it would save my picks. I've already missed a few days tbh cause I'm too lazy to grab my notebook to find my lists each time😭 The 'Sun Jia Yang's fruity' is hilarious lmao kudos to the translator who wrote that. We do have a more similar top 8 this time! I guess we'll see if it stays that way :D

2025-07-22 20:32:19 +0000 UTCOk, let's get into it! I don't think that I have a preference when it comes to liking C or K more, they seem pretty equal to me overall. Which is good ig, I wouldn't want to feel a big difference in me liking the versions. I do think that it felt a little different, maybe a bit more competitive? Well, it did turn into a gay staring contest real soon after, definitely not complaining tho. I do also think it was also different for me because I knew or heard of way fewer people in C Planet, so even after watching the PR videos, it did feel a bit like I was going into it blind. I was also spoiled by a few eliminations which was fine for me tho, like I would not search for them myself, but I don't mind knowing it. I was also a bit confused why the beginning with Hao was not Chinese, like yes it is a show that airs in Korea and only one of the judges speaks Chinese, but why not at least make the intro Chinese? Also I would have liked to have at least a few more people that speak Chinese on the judges team and yes, why did only C Planet have a Chief Master? Like, I'm not complaining, I like Jaejoong but why not put him in K as well lul. I do appreciate that Xiaoting is here tho even if I'm only a casual listener for Kep1er. I did actually vote for her in the final of Girls Planet 999 tho and I do just have to say that she is gorgeous. I saw some people say that they also did the "voting how many stars the fellow contestants get" in K Planet but they edited it out? Not sure about that but either way it is weird how it's only shown in C Planet. I did not mention it in K Planet because I also don't remember who was sitting in the place 1 seat and I am normally not someone that is worried about stuff like that but the "the one that sits on place 1 will not debut" is something I do think about. Like as soon as Jiahao sat on that chair I was like oh yeah he is no debuting and I'm only like half joking haha. Also I am already very interested in how the show is going to be when it merges and I'm a bit worried about the C trainees. I hope that the Top 8 is not mostly dominated by K group. It's also gonna be so interesting to see how many C trainees will be able to debut cause in both Girls Planet 999 and Boys Planet only 3 non K Group trainees debuted. and this time it will be even less member that debut, so also less chances. I am kinda hopeful that it will be more balanced this time, maybe I shouldn't be tho. Like this is 50% Korean voting after all and of course it's also Mnet. I did try to do a Top 8 overall but I failed haha. Maybe it's cause not everyone has performed yet but I do think that even after that it would be difficult to do. Also if we are already talking about voting: yes, the voting period makes no sense. It's the same case as in Boys Planet and it's just 100% a disadvantage to whoever is performing in the second episode and it will also happen again in later episodes. I really don't get it. Also the voting is so annoying, like it is never saving who I voted for and I think it is supposed to do that, right? I always miss someone when I am going through all of them for the voting and than also the ad lul, well I guess it does not take too long in total but it is a bit annoying. So let's get into the performances: Vixx - On And On: I for some weird reason like He Zhongxing a bit but I also can't take him seriously for one bit and he is also definitely not someone I would vote for. Also yes, the performance was edited a bit weird, I think he did pretty good tho. I liked Yuan Wei a bit better than Zheng Kun but yeah in general nothing too outstanding. Riize - Get a Guitar: I do really like Chen Kaiwen. Like, he is definitely not perfect, especially when it comes to his vocals but he is pretty charming. I am interested to see more of him! ZB1 - Devil Game: I did really like Fan Zheyi, also someone I'm interested in seeing more of. The song was definitely a bit high for most of them tho, was also surprised when Chen Bowen got 3 stars. He definitely had his really good moments tho but also why does this poor kid look so sad all the time? Can't say much about the others but I do think that I liked Hu Hanwen more of those two. Boy Story - Pump !t Up: That's not about the performance but love how I also thought that I don't like the song just cause of the one part haha. Did not know it before also and everything else does sound good tho so it's kind of a shame. Don't really have much to say about Qi Lin and Chrisen Yang. I did like He Junjin a lot. I think he has potential! Sun Jiayang did pretty good yes but he is also not someone I would vote for. Also random but in the Viki version, one of the subs was: „Sun Jia Yang's fruity“ instead of „Sun Jia Yang has a refreshing charm“ haha. Nick Chou - Turn Up: I am also very much confused why this team got so much screen time. Ig it would be weird to edit out them entering first but they definitely could have cut the performance. Also not a fan of what we have seen of Lin Quinan, he kinda gave me weird vibes, but maybe I'm too harsh on him. Not much to say about the others but I did like Dong Jinkun. Earth Wind & Fire - BND: Not much to say about those two babies, don't think that they were as bad as they let it seem to be tho. NCT Dream - Candy: I never watched Project 7 but I saw so many people that said that he can definitely do better, so not sure what went wrong here. Can't really say much about him ig but he is really pretty and cute tho. TXT - Crown: I can't really say much about He Jiahao but I really really liked Sen! I want to see more of him! Suju M - Super Girl/Pentagon - Naughty Boy/BigBang - Bang Bang Bang: I really don't have anything to say about those performances haha. Produce 101 S2 - Never: YES that is what I want to see, loved his performance. Blank2y actually was the group where Youngbin from I-Land was in, so ig that also was at least part of the reason why they disbanded. I did know about the group ever since they debuted but I don't think that I ever liked a song from them or knew any of the other members. So glad that Sun Hengyu was so good, hope that he gets a new chance. Taeyeong - Tap: I don't mind Lim Jack too much but he is also definitely not someone who I would vote for, he did pretty good tho ig. I also do really like Nian Boheng, he also almost made it into my Top 8! Overall pretty enjoyable performance. Enhypen - Fever: I am not 100% sold yet but it do like both of them. They did a really good performance but yeah it was not blowing me away. I do think that both of them were like really nervous, interested to see how they do in the course of the show, would love to see them opening up a bit more. My Top 8 rn is: Chen Kaiwen, Fan Zheyi, Yichen, He Xinlong, Sen, Sun Henggyu, Zhou Anxin, Zhang Jiahao Btw that is not in any particular order. I'm interested to see how my Top 8 will change after the next episode, I think I don't have many that are actually set to stay in my Top 8 in both K and C group yet. This time our Top 8 is more similar tho but also pretty different still haha. Also I just realized that with He Xinlong I do have another already debuted idol in my Top 8 oops but yeah I am also definitely not sure if he will stay. Well this time I thought that I was maybe a bit too critical or a bit too negative or maybe it's just my perception. Ig there were just some a bit negative or confusing topics. To end this on a positiv note: I did really enjoy this episode and I am really looking forward to the episodes for this week! There are definitely lots of trainees that I am looking forward to already and we probably will also discover some hidden gems at one point! Thank you for doing reactions to this, it's really fun to watch it again with you, I'm sure that it is definitely also a bit exhausting cause it's so long! Looking forward to your reaction to the next episode :)
