Have we got good news for you:
Thanks to the AMAZING work of our local Avatar Creations client developers, we now have the ability to provide client-side resources when clients connect to the server!
This opens up the door for:
New icons, new text descriptions, new modules, bots, buildings, field-devices, everything!
Before we had to be clever about what we could re-use, or make new items that didn't have a big client footprint in the ways of rendering.
The one thing that we can't do is add new models and animations - as the client game engine was custom built by AC model/animation assets need custom tooling to be added, tooling which AC will not be releasing open-source or otherwise.
But fret not! We promise there are many exciting things already in the game world we can more creatively exploit to generate new and fantastic creations!
We are hard at work building a pipeline to support a volunteer art team, and putting out a call for artists!
This new feature opens the door for a whole new world of possibilities, and as we explore and discover our new boundaries we will be releasing a new roadmap to chart things out beyond gamma (and a few features to be included with the gamma efforts).
