OBS 26.1 is out!
Added 2020-12-16 21:45:42 +0000 UTC26.1 is good to go! Although it's technically a minor patch, I'd still consider it a fairly big update:
- We added the virtual camera to both Linux and macOS
- We added the VOD audio track feature for Twitch at their request and with their assistance which adds options for separate audio mixing and encoding for your VOD
- We've updated almost all of our dependencies on Windows
- And a bunch of other small features and tweaks
Updating dependencies on Windows means that third-party libraries we rely on, especially x264, have been updated to their latest version. What this means is people who use software encoding should have a bit of a performance boost; x264 in particular should have a relatively modest performance boost because it's been a number of versions since we've updated it on WIndows.
FFmpeg is still one minor version behind (4.2.4) due to a bug we're experiencing in 4.3.x, but that will likely be resolved eventually. For CEF, the backend of the browser source, it's still quite a bit behind on 3770; it's the biggest and most complicated dependency, so updating it takes a lot of time and effort, especially due to an optimization patch we need for it (texture sharing). Expect to see CEF hopefully updated in the next major/minor version or so.
We really hope you enjoy the patch and find it useful. Thank you very much for all the support!
