Although we are ostensibly a ragtag bunch of train nerds making a videogame with goofy explosions and cartoon animal mascots, we take ourselves seriously as a company and as a means of railroad preservation in a digital art-form. Our team members care greatly about the survival and interpretation of historic railroad locations, artifacts, and knowledge, and we were deeply saddened by the suspected arson that has recently afflicted the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad's high bridge, for which it is expected that insurance will likely not cover the damages. After calling an emergency meeting of the board, Studio 346 has offered a sponsorship of $5K directly to Mt. Rainier Scenic to aid in the recovery and rebuilding of their line, and we are heartened by the larger outpouring of support for Mt. Rainier that the railroad community has rallied to provide. Keeping history alive and accessible for future generations is the ultimate goal of our project and our vision, so we humbly offer the support that we can in the hopes that long after we depart from this world, others will still be able to hear the voices of iron leviathans dancing among the pines an stirring in their hearts.
