Much like the women in my life, Christmas has come and gone. With the start of the new year fast approaching, I thought I'd take some time to look at the future of the game and give some insight to what I have planned for the game in the year to come. But first, the update.
I was really hoping to get an above average amount of work done this week, but the universe had other plans. The day after my last update I caught a cold and I'm only now starting to feel a bit better. Not to be deterred, I tried doing a bunch of work anyway, but after rendering the same image a third time--wrongly--I had to take the L and focus on some stuff that require less brain power.
With that said, I wrote a new scene and started writing what I anticipate to be one of the longest in this release. Apart from that, I also went back and added some lines in earlier parts and polished some of the writing. Not something I'd do at this point in time, normally, but it was something I could do with my whole 30% brain capacity.
Image-wise, the first hangout scene is nearly completed, but this was probably what saw the least progress.
I implemented the text and logic into the game and tested it for various game states.
Posed and rendered two sexual animations, then edited them into a single video. Normally, this wouldn't be needed and could actually hurt more than it helps, but this particular scene is a special case. You'll see why once the next release comes around.
Apart from that, I also created a new task list for things that need to be done before the release, as well as updating the development task list. This is going to be helpful as we draw nearer to release.
Next week, I'll keep pushing on writing and new images; hopefully, I'll finish writing the larger scene, but we'll have to see how that goes.
Like I said, I'd like to also look ahead to 2023 and what I have in plan for the game. No plan survives contact with the enemy and game development is especially vulnerable to chance, but this is what I hope to accomplish in the next year.
I'd like to have 3 new releases next year and hopefully wrap up Chapter 1 by end of summer. Once Chapter 1 is finished, I'd like to release it on Steam--that should help with visibility, though I'm not sure how much. If that goes well, I might be able to upgrade my hardware and speed up the rendering process. Right now, I've got an RTX 3060, and, while it's not bad, it could be better.
Story-wise, by the end of Chapter 1 we will have finished the setup and passed the point of no return, so it's going to get pretty wild.
Though it's been only about a month and a half since I released the game, you've all been amazingly supportive and I'm really thankful for that, and really happy to have you along for the ride!
