Early Access: DeHavilland Mosquito - Why The Luftwaffe Was Scared

Which aircraft caused the most discussion amongst the brass of the Luftwaffe? The B-17, the P-51, the Spitfire, the Lancaster? Well, I may have spoiled it already with the video title - so lets talk about what made the DH Mosquito such a prominent issue!

Thank you for supporting the channel,

Chris

Good measured discussion. I've been lucky enough to see all of the NZ-rebuilt Mosquitos fly, and sat in the cockpit of the ground runner at Omaka.

Ward Carrol had a youtube video that discussed Attack pilots and Fighter pilots, as applicable to USN and USMC. From Chris's assessment, Mosquito is both an Attack (bomber) and Fighter. So, it would be an "F/A-Mosquito". Good to hear the German objective point of view. "we have fell behind". And the solution to that problem, "put effort into jet engines, take air combat to a higher level". Tough call with normal bureaucracy, existing factory, tooling, etc. I've learned a lot on this channel. And the common "what if". Allies had an "aha" moment and chose to use F/A-Mosquito to hit critical targets surgically, instead of mass bombing. Sort of, fire and maneuver and not getting 1000 guys in a line and march through the countryside facing machine guns.
