Desmond episodes are always game changers. You are on a wild ride from here to the end! Something interesting that most viewers don't catch on their first watch of Lost is that Widmore never hated Desmond. But he (and Eloise) had Daniel's journal and knew Desmond's important future role to be in the Hatch and turn the key... So Widmore did what he could to keep Desmond away from Penny and sponsor the race that would get him to the Island. They had to make sure he played his role.

Yep. I call Desmond the glue that helps hold LOST together. He's #2 on my favorite character list.

Whether it was causing the plane crash or what he does in the season 6 flash sideways Desmond always seems to be the linchpin that brings everyone together and I love his episodes for that
