Esoboks are formed directly from the essence of the Boneyard, Pharasma’s realm, instead of being repurposed mortal souls. This makes them the least of the psychopomps, though not the physically weakest.
They are pathologically obsessed with their job of protecting lost souls, which they guard and instinctively guide towards Pharasma’s courts for judgement. They are actually quite affectionate towards cooperative souls, who are often lost, confused, and vulnerable to far darker predators. When they aren’t on assignment doing that, their second favorite activity is hunting and consuming the undead.
