Blue and green, she finally opened her eyes, but where was she?

“Is this sand?”, Tallulah asked. Her voice was raspy. She then touched her own wet chest, with her wet, salty fingers.

“Here, you need to hydrate”, said the voice next to her. “You swallowed some water, but you’ll be fine. Even dolphins need to come to the surface every few minutes.”

Tallulah lifted her chin and had a sip of water. Her swimsuit was by her side, with her diving mask on top of it. She didn’t find her oxygen tank. By her side was this other woman, leaning back on her elbows. “Did you just save me?”

“I guess you could say that, yes. You don’t remember a thing, do you? You were lucid, I mean, down there, before you blacked out”, the stranger chuckled.

She did not remember a thing, except for flashes of a weird dream. “You have the strangest accent. Are you from the islands?”

“Wait!”, the stranger said, as Tallulah finally looked at all the tentacle-like arms, or legs, that she had below her womb. They were red, wet, and long, and they had more suckers than she could count. When they moved, Tallulah gasped.

“What is it that you… What are you?!”
