eating at the table animation override

there are two animation styles based on the sim's gender. you can switch between them using my other mod! you can also set the default ea animation style for individual sims if you prefer that.

the override applies only if:
the sim is teen to elder;
the sim is eating at a dining, picnic or desk table;
the food is not handheld like ice cream cones or lollipops.
this override is much simpler than the default eating animations, i've only included:
basic eating;
eating spoiled or poor food;
sad mood eating;
and several idle variations.
originally, i wanted to redo way more animations, but i was surprised by how many different eating behaviors exist in the game. i also wanted to keep the special glutton trait eating, but it turned out to be too complex for me to implement.
i tested this mod thoroughly, but there’s a huge variety of food in the sims, so issues may still appear. please be ready to re-download if updates are needed!

2025-10-18 05:25:04 +0000 UTComg yes! i've been searching for eating animation overrides for the sims for ages and assumed they just didnt exist until i saw this. would you consider making more of these for more formal/regal sims with very stiff, refined table-manners and ettiquette? i've particularly been searching for animations like that bc i find it so immersion-breaking when sims that are meant to be really rich, fancy or royal do the goofy, over the top maxis eating animations. i would love an alternative to that (btw im sorry in case you don't take suggestions/requests, i dont mean to bother you with this comment). i'm just asking bc you are by far the best sims 4 animator making interactions and replacements that i've come across yet and i really admire the quality of your work <3

2025-10-11 16:57:18 +0000 UTCi’m really sorry to hear that! it’s a common problem for simmers, i’ve had it happen a lot too. what usually helps is creating a new “mods” folder, organizing it into subfolders with creator names or categories like “toddler mods” or “main mods,” and then slowly adding your mods back one by one while checking each on google and the scarlet mod list to see if it’s broken or outdated. (just make sure script files aren’t placed deeper than one subfolder) all my mods work with the latest patch and older versions too. just don’t use the “pack selection” feature to disable any game packs, since xml injector isn’t compatible with that. everything else should be fine! thank you so much for your kind words, and i hope it gets fixed soon 💞
