new music listening interactions
Added 2024-11-01 14:56:55 +0000 UTCupd. 6/25/25: now works with the new add-on that lets you change animation type for each sim individually. also made small code tweaks so the interaction shows up on stereos from recent and future packs.
this mod adds two new interactions for your sims when listening to music: calm listening and melancholic listening. includes custom animations tailored for both men and women.
base game compatible
requires the xml injector
actions are added to stereos and headphones.
1. at first you need to turn on your music system, choosing your music type
2. and then selecting either "calm listening" or "melancholic listening".
autonomy is enabled, which means sims will sometimes perform actions independently.
transitions are smooth.
calm listening:
requires a living chair, sofa or bench nearby.
helps reduce negative emotions.
adds the following moodlet (2 hours):
melancholic listening:
requires a bed, living chair, sofa or bench nearby.

2025-10-13 15:18:58 +0000 UTChi, sorry for the slow reply! i tested these exact files many times in my game, both on the old version and on the new one. i just downloaded the file again and launched a fully updated base game, bought a stereo, and the interaction showed up right after i turned on the music( i am really sorry, but i do not understand why the options do not appear for some players 💔

The Options aren't showing up despite the XML injectior being the right verson and the file being redowloaded. Can you maybe reupload the files again? You could've possibly accidently uploaded the wrong file? If not, then possibly there's a EA bug or smth.

I've tried moving all my CC out to just this mod and the xml thing so it's not conflicting with any of my other mods. It shows that i have those mods when the game loads as well. I also cleared the cache to see if that helps but that didn't do anything either. I'm super new to modding so it definitely might be user error but i'm commenting to see if you have any idea what else it could be. (i also tried it with different chairs, sofas, and beds)

I have the option to listen calmly, but for some reason when you press it the sim doesn't seem to know where to go and then cancelling action. tho there is a sofa and access to it is open. all mods are updated and cache is cleared, still doesn't work 😭 if you know what else could be the reason, maybe I'm doing something wrong, I would glad to be informed!!! cause I like ur overrides sm!!

2025-03-02 02:52:43 +0000 UTCi'm really sorry to hear that! i just checked, and the mod is working fine in my game. first, i’d recommend making sure you have the updated the xml injector file in your mods folder. also, try clearing the game cache by deleting the localthumbcache.package file in the sims 4 folder. hope this helps!
