So lately I've had the pleasure of getting to know James over on We Who Survived. He does these great dramatic and well edited Fallout playthrough videos and you should definitely check out his work. We have been talking and I offered to let him into the PANPC pre-release channel to test drive 2.0.12.
The main thing I'm excited about in the upcoming 2.0.12 is the Real Time Response framework, allowing NPCs to now react almost immediately to threats in their nearby environment. This includes - as James discovered in this FROST Vault 95 expedition - the ability to at least attempt to dodge grenade and mine explosions.
The joke around GG has always been, "PANPC: Making Mines Great Again Since 2018". Well, they're a little less great now, but I'm sure you'll agree that this is okay.
I'll get a new Dev Diary entry put together in the next day or so, to talk about dev-6 (or maybe dev-7, if there is one by then). James is using dev-5; dev-6 added more efficient LOS checking against the player and companions, making enemies a lot more likely to spot you and react (attack or avoid) on sight.
In the meantime, go watch We Who Survived, like and subscribe. James is a good dude and he's making really good stuff.
