Here's the truth about mod development: often, really good small mods take at least as much time to get right as the big, popular ones. And they tend to languish in a system designed to make well known mods (and modders) even more well known.
Before PANPC suddenly drew attention my way in 2018, I was one of those mod authors working in the low interest margins, rarely picking up more than a few dozen endorsements for my odd little experiments. So I have a heart for the underdogs, as do the other folks hanging around on the GreslinGames Discord.
This new series is about the mods and modders you may not have heard of. Some are new, some have been around forever. Some projects are odd, beautiful, unique. Others are simple and elegant and so intuitive that people just forget they exist. But in every case, these are imaginative little brain sparks that deserve to be noticed.
This first episode looks at two recent mods (Armor Blaster 5000 and Persistent Volume Sliders) and two older but overlooked ones (RobCo Detection Boy and Aim Fatigue). I take them all for a spin in one of my development environments.
