Huge Status Update & Alexander What If

I haven't done a large patreon status update in forever. I am so sorry. Life was crazy through the holidays, had some personal events to handle, and then I focused hard into writing because I felt behind and was stuck on some plot points.

But there's lots of news! And at the very end of this post I've included a preview of Alexander's first What If, which is one I think everyone will be very excited about!

A ton of progress has been made for Alexander's route!

Alexander's route will have 12 endings and 11 unique CGs (variations not included). Updated trigger list included at the end of this status (and has additions since this was shared on Patreon last.) This is probably the final list but I've said that before so...

All endings are drafted and most have been edited, still 3 left to do for the editor. All others are in the programming queue. Side stories and mini-stories are also drafted, they need editing. A few final CGs are in progress.

What If stories are currently being written. This is the only remaining writing left to do.

Over the holidays, David got a sprite, Josh got a sprite, and Vanessa has just had some updates to expand her expressions (ready to be programmed). Vanessa (and Isabella) are planned to be much more important characters in Remembrance. 

I've figured out secret details about Remembrance's over-arching story that I was struggling to plan. (Yay!)

Beta builds and monthly builds all went out on schedule. As usual, another build should be out this month.

Although all the main route endings are written, there will only be a couple new ones in the next patch. I'll be spending most of February programming and planning out the release, once these last two What If's are written!

As a general side note, I want to mention I've taken in lots of feedback about Obsession and strived to make improvements in the entire overall quality of the game for this DLC. 

There are two CG artists in total for Alexander's route, and both have agreed to be long-term artists for Remembrance. I hope you guys like the new CGs, I think they are great! And their art styles are similar and consistent using less, but higher quality artists.

The editor has also been great to work with! Lots of issues and improvements grammar/spelling and she even points out when things sound weird. I hope the script for Alexander is a lot more error-free.

I've been a lot more careful about the background music and including that during the programming instead of afterwards, so hopefully no more awkward mistakes there.

The artwork and editor have been possible because of the Patreon funds and the profits from Obsession sales. As promised, every penny of both goes into game development until this entire series is complete. This is the reason Alexander has 12 CGs instead of 5! Thank you to all the Patreon members and players!

I am so excited for this DLC and I hope it reflects everything I've learned over the last 2 years as both a writer and a game developer!

One other small thing I want to mention regarding Obsession - Victor's story was intentionally very short! This was a design and story choice, not a rush to get the game out of the door. Perfect execution? Of course not. But it was a choice. Victor is going to be an integral part of Remembrance and you're going to learn a lot about him very quickly.

I don't have a specific date for Alexander yet, but I'm hoping sometime February. March at the latest.

After Alexander is done, there will be a small FREE content update in the following months with some new side stories and mini-stories that were requested by players.

Alexander What If #1 Intro (Title TBD)

“A beautiful, tiny, frightened, brown-haired girl stood in the hallway beside a boy a little bit taller than her. Her eyes darted from person to person until they landed on Luciana Viotto, her mother, a woman I already knew by her frightening reputation”.

Luciana "Children, come, come!"

“I already knew their names, but this was our first time meeting them in person.”
