Finances Update & Alexander sneak-peek!

I'm sharing this so there's full transparency to all Patreon members. I stated very early on in development that if Obsession ever made a profit, I would offer my two main artists a bonus. They were both very generous and flexible to help me keep the costs low during development and they both did amazing work. They earned it!

Obsession has started generating a profit (yay!!!), so today I have followed through on my commitment. (Names censored for privacy obviously.)

These are for the artists that did most of the sprites & many of Obsession's early CGs, Wintry and Lavendel.

They have both retired from commissions for life commitments. But it was great working with them both and I will miss them!

As I've committed to in the past, all other income generated from Obsession and all Patreon funds will be entirely invested into Remembrance.

Onto new stuff!

I will be doing weekly status updates on Saturdays on Discord from now on. I used to do daily ones during Obsession but I do want to give myself a better work-life-project balance.

One of our new artists has produced some concept art for backgrounds for Remembrance. So here's a little preview of those.

I am giving you zero context for these scenes. :D But these are very important places you will see frequently.

I have been writing for Alexander's DLC all week! Won't have CGs started for a bit (I gotta figure out the scenes I want CGs for and that typically comes while writing.) But here's a tiny little peak at the upcoming content.

For clairvoyant members, I'm targeting a beta build for around Nov 18.

As always, this is work in progress and anything may change. (Spoilers, duh.)

(Reminder, Luciana is MC's mother. "mce" and "mci" refer to the main character.)

Isabella “To avoid a war and being blacklisted to everyone who does business with us? Luciana will if she has any sense whatsoever. Otherwise their family will fall into massive debt.”

Alexander “Does she have any sense?”

“Isabella rolled her eyes at Alexander, as if it was obvious. Alexander stared blankly at his sister, waiting for an answer. Most people seemed senseless to him.”

Isabella “She’s one of the few female leaders of a mafia family in history. Yeah, I think she has some sense, unlike some mafia heirs I know.”

Alexander “Love you, too, Sis.”

“The older boy sat down on the floor and crossed his legs, eyes wondering over me with curiosity.”

Alexander “How old are ya?”

mce “I’m ten.”

Alexander “Four years, hm? I guess that ain’t so bad.”

mce “I said I’m ten! Not four. I’m not a baby!”

“He chuckled at my frustrated protest.”

Alexander “I heard ya, kid. I meant we’re four years older. I’m fourteen.”

mce “We?”

Alexander “Me and my twin brother. You saw him earlier, right?”

mce “The boy who chased me? With the braid?”

Alexander “Yup, that’s him. Sebastian.”

mce “He scared me. Why did he chase me?”

Alexander “I dunno, he’s a dumb-ass sometimes.”

mce “You can’t say ass.”

Alexander “You just said ass.”

“Surprised, I slapped my hands over my mouth. I tensed, expecting the boy to punish or at least yell at me like Mother would, but he only laughed.”
