What do you think of this one? Should we have cut the mom more slack? Also thinking about it now maybe we should have tore into the dad more?

The step mom is implying that the 13 year old is the one causing lack of sleep! No way! And Amy is spot on, she WOULD be so helpful at that age. Iβll also add that you canβt cancel on your children. Stepmom didnβt say anything about even talking to the 13 year old or having dad talk to her about when she would see them or explaining the circumstances. Sad

Both sides of my family have anger/rage issues and that would come into play when my mom βspankedβ (more like beat). My sister, who is the gentlest person I know, and in a very few cases she has found spanking to be the best option (itβs usually a last report after she has tried other consequences and the child is not getting it) but she makes sure all of her emotions are dealt with before she does it and she makes sure to have a conversation about why is happening. I agree that spanking is not the answer, but I think itβs the emotions of the adult that contributes the most to any trauma from that type of punishment.

Any time I would get any bit of confidence my dad would make sure to βhumbleβ me. Resulting in a long time in therapy because I had such little self worth and youβre right the world does that enough parents donβt need to. I am definitely going to do better for my kids. I love that our generation is so willing to change and put in the work to do better.

What would they do if something happened to mom and the daughter had to live with them full time. Donβt have kids you canβt take care of. Step daughter is not going to talk to them when sheβs older.

I feel like Morgan gives best friend energy and Amy gives big sister energy and I LOVE the episodes when those two are together. Amy needs a podcast like FKS where she gives listeners ideas from a big sister point of view

That being said, I think they should still allow the step daughter to at least come over and chill. Doesn't have to be a big thing.
