Old Man Plays Far Cry

Do you know the definition of insanity? Playing video games, in the Blue Glow, over and over again, forever. That was a Far Cry 3 reference which is not even this game so forget it. This is Far Cry classic which i never got to experience before. By the time i played this series it was all dubstep and bullshit.

I never even played the cool 80s future synthwave one. I never played the caveman one. Or the MAGA one, or whatever else this wacky series cooked up. The only one i ever played was 3 which had maybe the most irritating story and characters of any game i ever encountered. Even the scary villain guy who everyone liked and was all over the promotional stuff dies like halfway through it, and he's the only guy in it worth remembering.

But there was a time before Far Cry 3 when this series actually showed promise. I had to see this for myself. So here's me trying to wrap my ancient brain around the original game. At first my senility prevented me from understanding that you can crawl under stuff and i just about quit the damn thing right then and there. But after i finally managed to figure out that basic control feature and got outside, it wasn't long at all before i remembered this was the era of gaming i was built for, and started having a gay old time. Driving, shooting, swimming, with none of that tower climbing bullshit from the 3rd one.

I like this game. I enjoy it a great deal. The graphics are serene and beautiful in that way only graphics from 20 years ago could ever be, and there's no frat boy main character to rain on my fun with his idiot ramblings. The only idiot ramblings i want to here are mine. This is a real game with a real protagonist, some guy in a hawaiian shirt. That's all you need, it's perfect for what this game is meant to be, and what it's meant to be is simply... FUN.

They should have called it Fun Cry.
