King: what's that, dean?
Koontz: why isn't Pennywise in this?

King: i am aware of who pennywise is, dean

King: well dean, it just wouldn't make sense for pennywise to be in the running man
Barker: no no actually
Barker: dean's got a point
Barker: if you think about it
Barker: it actually doesn't make sense for pennywise NOT to be in the running man

King: that doesn't make any sense
King: it's a story about a horrible dystopian surveillance state future! how would an evil cosmic clown that eats kids fit into that?

King: it's a completely different kind of story!
Barker: yeah but don't you have, like, stephen king-a-verse or something?
Barker: pretty sure i saw you making cross-pollinational references
King: yeah but
King: everyone does that!
King: howard does that!
HP Lovecraft: he's right, i do that

King: you can't just expect that every character is going to appear in every story!
King: what would that even look like?
