023 - Age Inflation Setup

In this tutorial we'll tackle the setup for the inflation. We'll create an emitter in Vellum. Then we'll create an age attribute for each emitter sphere and then use that to inflate the spheres. Finally, we'll use the same attribute to add some pop drag into our scene to help the craziness motion.

Amazing tutorial as always but i am struggling to follow how the vellum solver is getting its 1st and 2nd input. We are attaching a POP Wrangle node to the 1st input of the geo wrangle and this is what is tripping me over. Could you explain a little how the vellum solver or the geo wrangle node to be exact in this case is getting its input? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ana, it's been awhile since 18.5, so, I may be wrong. But I think back then if you wanted to do emission you had to setup your own vellum solver inside a dopnet. It was only in 19 that they allowed for the Vellum sop Solver to do emission. Let me know if you know how to do that, if not, I can setup a small example file. Unfortunately, I'm away right now, but when I'm back next week I can do that.

hi Paul! I'm using v18.5 and the vellum solver only has one output. Trying to use your method by adding a merge but is not working. Do you have any tips? Or should I just use a vellum constrain property node?

Ana

Hey Adam, you need to setup the inputs on the geo wrangle for the inflation (around 13:00 in the tutorial). That seems to solve it!

Hi Paul, I'm a little stumped on why my spheres are not inflating. Hoping you could give a wee bit of insight. https://we.tl/t-ePDdHIAYan
