2025-09-07 22:05:50 +0000 UTCThey are not really considered K-pop, I think, but I'm a 37 year old ARMY. I follow BTS since I'm 30. They help me get through the death of my dad. Their use of psychological concept in their music is something else. They speak openly about depression, which is still very taboo in Korea (one of the member suffer from it so it was important to him to do music with it) and mental health in general. They are so versatil and don't like the little box everyone wants to put people in ^^. The seven members are writing and composing so there are a variety of style. Outside their art they are so funny and down to earth. They encourage people to seek help when they break down mentaly and specially the young people (their name is literally Bangtan Sonyeondan meaning bulletproof boyscout and it's because they want to block prejudice, societal expectation and judgement that aim at the youth like bullets ^^).
