Welcome to the 2020 tech check recording of Red Web; the pilot episode that never saw the light of day all about a really fun mystery: The Bloop!
Though it's since been solved, The Bloop has always been a fascinating topic for me. A sound so deep, so long, and so LOUD that it could be heard across 3,000 miles (5,000 km) of ocean.
Mysteries like these always spark my imagination, and while I like to debunk things with science where possible, this remains a perfect example of letting my mind wander to other fascinating possibilities. Was this a major tectonic event? An iceberg? A colossal, new creature of the deep? Cthulhu?
It's incredible to listen back to this and see both how familiar it is, but also how much the show has grown and developed. And hey, after 4 years and hundreds of hours of mysteries, now you know our very first movie reference took us only 65 seconds!
