Ground Beef Stroganoff

Every once in a while, there's one recipe that is highly requested, that takes me way too long to get around to making. And this is one of those moments.

Since I first started my Patreon, I have had requests for a beef stroganoff. The problem is that I always try to make my recipes budget friendly. And let's face it, steak ain't cheap!

So I figured, why not a ground beef version? And let me tell you, this turned out great!

This recipe was so good! Swapped sour cream for greek yogurt due to dairy preferences and it was still really good. For the veggie note at the bottom of the card, I could see myself adding some peas 😋

I will never make stroganoff from a can of cream of mushroom ever again. I’m making this again tonight!

Delicious. One of the best stroganoff recipes I've had. I did make it with stew meat, only because I found a bottom round roast on sale cheaper than I could get ground beef. My husband doesn't like mushrooms, so I just omitted them from the recipe and sautéed myself a side of them to add to my portion. It worked out great! Will definitely try with ground beef next time, I'm sure it's just as fabulous!

I made it today with the non fat plain Chobani Greek yogurt and none of us could tell a difference. The meal was delicious.

I'm also curious about this so that it adds a bit more protein. Would love to know if it's an appropriate substitute or if it would affect the final texture.

I'm sorry to hear that. I felt like it had lots of flavor, but we are all unique in our preferences. Many times the flavor is there and it just needs salt to make the flavor pop. So that may help. You can always add some of your favorite seasonings as well.

Has anyone tried it with non fat plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream?? Do you think it would work?

I prefer my stroganoff with rice but I might have to try it this way…
