In honor of our compassionate Scholar’s birthday today, I collected some insights about them along with teasers from TFS: Book Two. 💙

Question: "Would a romanced S ever let the MC braid their hair?
This question makes me so soft, but that’s absolutely nothing compared to how S feels.
With S, I can see them letting the MC braid their hair in addition to offering suggestions for their dye job and metal decorations. You might notice that they have moved away from the typical blue gradient to venture into a different part of the color wheel the MC favors. The actual braiding would mean a lot to S; they’d view it as an act of intimacy since they do braid their hair a certain way and might share, possibly even patiently teach, the MC how they like it. This is why I feel S would start with the aesthetics first before moving into the rest once further in romance.
You can see in Book One that S sometimes gauges interest before talking or sharing more, so this can creep up in romance when they’re getting more personal—more familiar—with the MC.

🌲 TFS: Book Two Teaser 🌲: Perhaps, R. Verner Can Be Mrs. Dorran's First Mate with Shipping and Supporting S and the MC?
(I randomly paired the genders here. Thank you for understanding! :D This is a S-mancer with a bestie R, although we also know of the S&R dynamic.)
Silas
Ruby's investment is genuine while buoying your own happiness. "He didn't play guitar for me yet, showing me his pastel artwork instead. Some of it was inspired by me, my return." Ruby nods along as if you're telling her something paramount, even aw-ing faintly and murmuring something about you being Silas's muse. "It was beautiful."
"Naturally. It is Silas's."
"Well, yeah, but also him opening up to me through his art felt special," you explain. "I didn't think my return would do that—a positive thing." Ruby's hand drifting to hesitantly cover yours on the armrest catches you off guard, though the mild uncertainty to her expression prompts you to hold it. She's unfamiliar with offering physical comfort.
"I know there is more nuance"—Ruby stresses the word, careful of your feelings—"to your return, but do not discount your impact for good. For being a positive."
Sofia
Reese's investment is genuine while buoying your own happiness. "She didn't play guitar for me yet, showing me her pastel artwork instead. Some of it was inspired by me, my return." Reese nods along as if you're telling him something paramount, even aw-ing faintly and murmuring something about you being Sofia's muse. "It was beautiful."

Question: Okay but how does W (Mal) feel about MC essentially living with S (if MC's also romancing S)? 👀 MC's essentially living in S' home and with their potential mother-in-law 😂 That's got to be worse than MC and B 😭
Answer:
I love this question It makes me wonder about how Mrs. Dorran might feel about this dynamic playing out between her child and Mal.
I mean, she's a sweetheart, but we see from the start of Book One that she also has some well-meaning curiosity and tends to notice things. You all may remember the look she gave the MC and B when checking into the B&B; 'how many rooms'?? 👀 It makes sense she would notice if a certain enigmatic someone was lingering around her home to visit the MC. Your potential future mother-in-law might have opinions.
Back to Mal, they are relatively secure in themself since you've already sought them out. 😏 They wouldn't worry about the Dorrans unless you start to pull away from them.

Question: Do any of the characters have tattoos?
S does have tattoos! So far within Book One, MCs can get a glimpse of one (along with a detailed description) during the Chapter 8 nightmare. Each one has meaning to them since they are rather purposeful in viewing style as a part of their own creative expression. As for Book Two, S-mancers will have a chance to glimpse more of S's ink; it has been alluded to in a spicy writing on [Patreon]. It rests beneath their collarbone, a quote. What does it say?
Maybe you'll find out.

🌲 TFS: Book Two Teaser 🌲: S's Patience Can Be Hot 👀
Silas
Silas doesn't entirely cave to the closeness, possibly enjoying how you gather his pjs until one of your hands meets bare skin.

(This comes from a post of agentark's! I love it.)
R Verner, opening their mouth: 😎😏😉
S Dorran, milliseconds later: 🤨😑🤔
exhibit a:

exhibit b (sofia, we're all about to die can you roast ruby later):

Sidenote: You can bet R has opinions on the Mona Lisa getting its own room in the Louvre with extra viewing cost, if they knew about it. I saw that on the news the other day.

Question: "To S: Given that you were able to read that funky book found in MC's grandfather's cabin, did you have to use something to help translate it, or do you know Latin? And do you know any other languages?"
Answer:
S hefts the massive book onto the coffee table, taking a quiet breath, before opening it up to a random page, except they soon flip it to a new one because the image was too unnerving. “I had some help,” they explain, indicating the translations that have been tucked into the pages. They try not to obviously frown when noticing scrawls in the margin instead of on an included note. “R would be more useful at Latin than me… But they would have thoughts”—S glances up from the worn pages to share an unamused look with you—“on most of these pictures. It'd get distracting.”
You're still trying to figure out what's staring back at you from the page; it's an odd etching.
“I used some of the previous readers' notes, including Mr. [Surname]'s, but I might need to find some other aids,” S shares, lightly running the tip of their finger over the massive book. “There's a lot here…”
(We will be learning more about what languages the ROs can speak in Book Two! It's somewhat route/choice-dependent. 👀 Everyone will learn that B can speak Spanish, there are context clues for something with J that JR-mancers then get to actually hear (which is v. hot of J, ahem), and then R besties on B's route can also overheard something! Regardless, for S and the others, this will come up as we progress and during story moments.)
