💜 October Is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is a time to pause, honor, and show compassion not just to survivors, but to everyone impacted by domestic violence.

Be gentle with yourself. Be patient with your healing. And be kind to others because you never know who’s still fighting silently.

This month, we uplift the survivors rebuilding their lives, the ones still finding their courage to leave, and even those who don’t yet recognize they’re in the cycle.

Domestic violence doesn’t always look like bruises. Sometimes it’s control, silence, isolation, or fear that hides behind a smile. So please check on your friends, your neighbors, and the strong ones who “seem fine.”

You never know who might be carrying that weight. 💜

💜 I Chose Me — Escaping the Cycle is a Domestic Violence Awareness Month project that introduces:

1 brand-new trait for survivors of domestic abuse and violence
5 new social interactions centered on healing, self-worth, and emotional strength
New emotional buffs and story notifications that reflect the journey from surviving to reclaiming your peace

This mod is about more than gameplay. It’s about storytelling that matters.
Because some of us grew up around this, some of us lived it, and too many still do.

This is my love letter to anyone who has ever felt trapped, silenced, or small.
You are seen. You are heard. You are not alone.

Sometimes strength doesn’t look loud.... it looks like leaving, breathing, and choosing yourself.
And if no one’s told you today: I’m proud of you for surviving.

I made this because the stories we tell in The Sims reflect real people and real healing.
You can create, process, or simply honor your truth through storytelling.
