Monthly Progress Update: July

Hi everybody! First of all, we’d like to thank each and every one of you for being our very first patrons! We’ve got a ton of great stuff ahead of us, and we can’t wait to share it all with you! These monthly updates are going to be a way to let you know what we’ve all been up to lately and what you can look forward to, as well as glimpses ahead into the future!

Starting with a recap, this month has seen us dealing with a terrific response to the Heart of the Woods demo (thanks to those of you who tried it out!) that has totally blown us away. We’ve taken every single piece of feedback (positive and negative) that we’ve received to heart and are using it to make sure the final game is as amazing as it possibly can be! To that end, we’ve been hard at work revamping assets, working on demo updates, and pushing forward with more content for the final game! Our main focus over the last few weeks has been the script, and we’ve been giving it our all to make sure we create a wonderful fairy tale for all of you. We’ve also got further demo updates planned to add new scenes/content and to squash any remaining bugs, so please feel free to send us a message on social media or on our official discord if you run into any issues!

Of course, that’s not the only thing we’ve been working on. This month sees the release of The Waters Above: Prelude! Everyone has been working incredibly hard to put together a really wonderful project, and it shows. That means a lot of time making a working build, finalizing the script, music and art assets, and getting it all ready for Steam and itch.io! Plus, not only can you look forward to a great game made by talented people, you can also look forward to a little surprise bonus content! We can’t wait to finally let you see what we’ve been working on, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Our team members are also hard at work on a few unannounced projects that we’re all super excited for and are very much looking forward to sharing with you. Higher tier patrons should be able to find out more within the next couple months! We’re sure that learning about them will make you as excited as we are.

Last but not least, we want to take a minute to give you so me info about what you can expect with regard to patreon reward updates per month. On the first of every month, you can expect a general progress update like this one to go up for patrons of all tiers! Everything else will be on a regular schedule:

Mondays: Music Monday (Additional music available for $20+ patrons)
Tuesdays: Every other Tuesday we'll be revealing information about our upcoming unannounced games to our highest tier patrons!
Thursdays: Progress updates/sneak peaks for our announced games, usually alternating weekly (available to $10+ patrons)
Saturdays: Screenshot Saturday (Additional screenshots/art available for $20+ patrons)
Sundays: Alternating between creative posts such as prompt fills/character interviews (available to $5+ patrons) and technical posts about the behind the scenes process of creating an Élan game! (available for $10+ patrons)

That’s all for this month, but we’ll have plenty of updates for you next month when you’ve all had time to try out The Waters Above: Prelude.
