Lovely Hands of the Navigator

A fox goma traveling across an ocean via means of a magic book. The book itself is capable of handling all major spells, so long as the fox is well versed enough to make corrections in case the navigator starts behaving oddly. The sword and the trident are sort of like the keys in the ignition.

No worries! I'm thankful to get to read your thoughts about this, though. I was really curious, and I think that is such a cool idea for a system of magic. It was a very clear explanation of such an abstract concept as well, I appreciate the thought you put into your writing.

Realized I forgot to respond to this! But! Rather than it being it's own material it's more like... the materials become more sympathetic to one another. The paper becomes more like the ocean water, and the ocean water becomes more like the paper, particularly in their immediate vicinity. Another way I like imagining this process is if say a character, wizard, goma, etc walked into swift-flowing stream, and sort of sank into it, that they could linger there without succumbing to hypothermia or drowning, through this sympathy. That the character becomes more like the stream, and the stream becomes more like the character, and they meet together in a centered point.

Seems like an awfully complicated way to travel. Love that hand with the cigarette, it seems so out of place. FUNNESS! :)

That is a fascinating explanation! Have you ever envisioned what this shapeshifting material looks like in its raw form, through your art? Or does it always take the form of something else?

Thanks! I like to imagine in this case that the book ocean are of a similar sympathetic material, whether because they are both magic, or because the ocean is a manifestation of the book or the book a manifestation of this ocean.

Thanks Guy!

Absolutely gorgeous.

Stunning ink work, and the little goma is so cute. What protects the pages from water? Magical wards of sealing?
