Added 2021-10-14 05:24:59 +0000 UTCIt’s been one of those frustrating months on Abroad in Japan where on the surface it looks like not much is happening, when in fact EVERYTHING has been happening.
So today, I just want to share with you guys the videos you can look forward to in the second half of October!
(ALSO Abroad in Japan is finally Twitter Verified. It’s a bloody miracle and much welcomed given the relentless bullying from Joey, Connor and Pete over the last few years. I don't know how much more I could have taken!)
So first off, today we’re off to Kyoto, where I’ll going to be hosting a Youtube live show on the Chris Abroad channel in a Gin Distillery called House of Ki No Bi! It’s perhaps the finest gin brand in Japan, using locally sourced botanicals from the Kyoto area and it happens to be owned and run by a fellow Brit and friend of mine.
To celebrate their 5 year anniversary they’ve invited me down to host an hour long live show, sharing with viewers various gin cocktails and giving a tour of their distillery in the heart of Kyoto! It should be a lot of fun and something a bit original (though admittedly, me drinking alcohol isn’t entirely original). Still it’ll be fun to do a live show outside of the studio and I hope you guys can make it for the event on Thursday evening! (22:00 Japan time).

THIS WEEKEND
Next up, I’ve just wrapped filming on the first video in the brand new studio, stuffing myself with as many convenience store sweets and snacks as possible. That’ll video will be out this weekend!
TOP SECRET PROJECT
I’ve also been working on a top secret documentary, that’s so brilliant and awesome, you probably won’t believe it until I show you the photo - something I can’t do until the end of the month unfortunately, but all I can say is brace yourselves for the impossible.
24 HOURS IN AKITA
In a video next week, Ryotaro is back on the scene, as we traverse the mountains of rural Akita prefecture in search of the easiest, juiciest chicken in Japan.
It’s safe to say we succeeded, as well as seeing some terrifying monsters and cute Akita dogs along the way.
WACKY WEEKEND x NATSUKI
And finally, in what will likely be a highlight for the month, for the next Wacky Weekend and something of a halloween special, Connor (CdawgVa) will be teaming up with Natsuki as we venture into a remote forest in search of something horrifying. (And no, it’s not Ryotaro).
Of course, all of these videos will have exclusive Patreon behind the scenes videos, filled with hilariously awkward outtakes and deleted scenes!
As for the studio, the set is still being built and it’s estimated to finish around the last week of October / first week of November! Bloody exciting.
For now guys I hope to see you at tonight’s Live Show and I'll take some snaps of Kyoto to share with you as well. I've started to really the love the city despite years of complaining about it being "touristy". It's honestly a photographer's dream.

Your comment does explain why they start looking a bit worried when you're obviously smashed after the fourth cocktail in this video though. It's because it's not merely the fourth, right xD
