Day 6 | Lost in Paris

I don't condone smoking. But I rather like this photo.

After our epic last minute journey to Paris by car, thanks to British Airways' monumental IT fuck up, we found ourselves wandering around Paris in search of some kind of market at Natsuki's request.

Natsuki wanted to buy some props and items for the inside of his beauty salon, to help give a sense of culture and identity to the shop. It turned out the answer was to buy antique figurines of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, produced in the 1960's, at a cost of several hundred euros.

While I didn't entirely agree it was a worthy purchase, the figurines will certainly add 'character' to his shop (you can see the terrifying figurines towards the end of the trailer here: https://youtu.be/re7UY1jlDiM).

We visited the Eiffel Tower, which Natsuki anointed as "the greatest skyscraper of the world" and took a soon-to-be iconic photo of himself standing amongst his beloved antique dwarfs, with the tower behind in the distance.

After enjoying a plate of omelettes and steak, he also came to the conclusion that French food is definitely better than British food.

I was initially bitter - but after a mouthful of those omelettes I begrudgingly became more empathetic to his perspective.

French omelettes are bloody brilliant.

After a hectic week of dashing around London and Brighton, Paris was certainly a much welcomed change of scenery! The city is far more beautiful then I remember! (Well, most of it).

Comments

Natsuki has a black and white of this photo on his guitar in the movie...I want that as a poster! New hipster/college dorm greatness? Yes please.

Such a boss.

Spooky

French food is better than British, dearie. I have theories on this. Mostly I believe it's the liberal use of butter, especially high quality butter. French and Danish butter are apparently the best ever, so I imagine with the liberal use of such a good thing only results in tasty offerings.

Just wait till the figurines attract mountains of attention and business

I didn't know things made in the 60s are antique already... Just like my dad :D

Johannes

I think that picture would make for an amazingly fashionable tshirt.

"I don't condone smoking. But I rather like this photo." Agreed but somehow Natsuki is so cool here even I would consider taking up smoking.
