2025-02-03 21:33:40 +0000 UTCThis is, or is close to, my favorite Cheryl and/or Carol (Charlotte) episode. But maybe it doesn't count because it's in a coma dream? But the way she treats Archer the way he's treated everyone else was great! The stuff with Bernice, getting into and out of the hotel; the incomplete story about the Voodoo priestess; and first time I saw the thing "hey, me and him, we just f-ed," I laughed like Tom when that guy got kicked in the face; "I think we're being followed;" and don't let this go by: "Why do you think my father started the Spanish American War?... Because he got my aunt pregnant." That's more than quasi-incestous (or at least more than a 4, whatever the scale), and it gets more unsettling in later episodes, and the Doctor Krieger stuff really gets good! And now for the real comedy: An Under-bulter is a thing: He is the Butler's assistant and helps him with the grunt work involved in the day-to-day operations of a Great House (my Godmother was a huge fan of the original Upstairs/Downstairs). And the nurses told us, when I've had a couple of family members in hospice, that people in comas can generally hear and understand what you're saying. And yeah, 1940s language, but they certainly didn't use the word "Hispanic" for my grandparents back in those days. I could go on, but my ear hurts! Anyway, loved this reaction as always.
