Honestly it's really hard keeping up with everything that I've been doing to make this project a reality, and lately I've been having trouble finding the motivation through the sea of poor reviews, vile comments and user demands, but in some of those pretty grumpy moments I've been able to look past it because you're here beside me.
I say "we" on the public Twitter when I talk about Refsheet. Most companies use "we" to refer to all their employees and people that make it go. Right now, it's just me, little ol' Mau pushing the buttons.
But I'm not alone. When I say "we" it's us. I'm here pushing the buttons, and all of you are standing behind me cheering me on. You believe in this project, and your support means so, so much. I can't thank you enough.
I know I'm quiet here, which might be disappointing, but know that you are all appreciated. You're all the reason this project keeps going. The reason I'm making it better, and helping it grow. Without you, I wouldn't have the support I need to keep going.
Without you, all the demands, all the sour comments and angry users. That would get to me. Sometimes it does. Sometimes those interactions scare me away, and I leave the keyboard for a few days and am afraid to check Twitter, or the forums. I disabled the Feedback button almost a year ago because I wasn't strong enough to handle what came through it.
But every time I let the bad feels get to me, I find strength in knowing that you are all here to support the project. You all believe in it. You all see value here in what I'm trying to do, and together we are stronger than the negativity that I can't face alone.
Together we are Refsheet.
So from the bottom of my heart, in the most solemn and humble,

I must have told ten people about it in such high praise and they loved the convienence of the site when commissions and sketch gifts became a breeze. I know the loud ones can get you down, but your site is a godsend. Please don't let them drown out the rest of us who love this site so much. 🌸 You're doing a fantastic job, we're so appreciative of what you've done here and all you do behind the curtain that we don't even know about!

It looks so nice and it's very easy to convince folks to give it a try just b/c it's immediately attractive and useful

Everything I'm doing with Refsheet is a way to facilitate this and make it easy for others to enjoy this. Some other projects that are currently on hold might seem off-brand for "Refsheet", like the marketplace idea. Why would a website focused on Refsheets want to dabble in the actual art trade? It's our mission. One day, we'll make commissioning artwork as easy as possible, so people can get right to the rewarding part.

I'm almost out of the woods on that one, but I have one more migration to make. I'm trying to aim for long-term stability right now, which is partially why there's nothing new to report. Though, if people are curious about new features, all that image processing carp that's going on is some Cloud Witchery. Goog and Amazon are working together finally, and sure images have been backing up a bit, but if I didn't do anything we'd go back to the dark times where the site was unavailable for hours or days on end because all the web servers are busy resizing art and forget they have other jobs. Anyone remember our "Oh refsheet is down again :(" phase? That was fun. Every time I went to a con.

2019-06-29 19:56:53 +0000 UTC^^^ If the site was paid to use of course I'd be held to a higher expectation, but it's free to use in a sea of many other similar projects that have failed or never started. I actually had an internal filter on the feedback queue that ranked it by age of account and activity, but even then it was an angry shout box that was getting ~10 messages / day or more, and only one a month or so was actually constructive :| An hey, any support is meaningful, thank you Theory! You're one of my longest patrons, and I'm forever thankful of your contributions.

I've been trying to respond to the negativity with "alas I am but one sentient meatsack" and most people are understanding and rephrase their concerns to be a bit more friendly. Perhaps I should add something to the website to let people know to be kind, for I am one smol softie.

I felt terrible when I dropped down a teir because it felt like i should be paying to use such a neat organization site. I think, if you ever want to enable the feedback button again, you should require an account be like 48 hrs or something so people don't just break something and send an angry email. It's free to use AND in development; things shouldn't be expected to be perfect!

2019-06-29 19:50:09 +0000 UTCwow, i didn't know people sent you so much negativity... im sorry you have to go through this, thats horrible. i love refsheet, its literally perfect for how i wanted to present my ocs. maybe youve considered this before, but perhaps making it more obvious that its a one person project would make it better? i feel like people have no problem being rude to corporations/companies, but when they see its just one person doing their thing they wouldn't be inclined to be mean. either way you dont deserve it. *hug* ❤️💜
