Photoshop Extension

Oh boy what a... month?

The bulk of the website had some backend overhauling that paved the way for some spiffy new features, and now we're back on track for building out those new character pages!

Patrons might've noticed the notification bell and chat icon in the top menu now, and while there are still some bugs, they're a feat of engineering. In tech terms: Refsheet is two React bundles in a trench coat right now as we move away from Sprockets and into Webpack.

Sooo, sanity-restoring side projects ahoy!

After sending some ref.st/mau links to a few sketch streams, I've witnessed a fair share of artists juggling screen real estate with Chrome and Photoshop. Also, holy browser tabs, artists!

I thought, wouldn't it be neat if all the useful, barebones character info can live in Photoshop, and for that matter allow some useful interaction with Photoshop?

Enter: The Refsheet.net Artist Extension!

At it's core, it should be a place to easily and quickly pull up character references while you're working, but not be too distracting. So far, it's got the important notes and color swatches (which you can just click to set your brush color, because Magic.)

What else should you want it to do?
Also, are you an artist that uses Photoshop? Want to test it at some point? Yell at me!

[Psst: This will also be jammed violently into an Android app in the future, for those at-con "please sketch my character!" moments]

[Pssst: Are you an artist that does in-stream sketch coms? Link your Picarto below, and I'll follow you!]

QtWebView or any of the modern variants. It's probably possible that I can package just those libraries with my extension, but I'm not that familiar with Python. The extensions are open source BTW: <a href="https://github.com/refsheet" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://github.com/refsheet</a> I'd post what I have of the Krita ext but, it's just a copy of their Hello World rn.

What Python lib?

Greg

- CSP: Only supports filter plugins, and only in the Japanese version :(

Mau Abata

SO! I really want to support other programs, but they're making it hard :{ I've tried: - SAI: Apparently just doesn't have a plugin system??? - Krita: Has a plugin system but is missing a required Python lib. Halp!

Followed, thanks for sharing! I'll look into CSP. I really want to support more programs, but they're making it hard! Details in another comment.
