got the idea to make a zong after watching this video last night. was absolutely intrigued by the concept of quickly making a zine without the pressure of making it coherent or presentable. especially since I've wanted to make a zine for a long time and have been putting it off for those exact reasons.
followed this really easy tutorial to make a zine out of a sheet of paper (no tools needed besides paper and hands), gathered my color pencils and markers, some scissors and glue, and just kinda went for it. I really loved getting to explore a variety of ideas without needing to commit to any of them and allowing the fleeting nature of emotion to drive each page. I had a lot of fun making this zong and am keen to make more! I also highly recommend making one yourself if you need help jumpstarting creativity. it's a super low-stakes, accessible, and enjoyable project that doesn't take long. the satisfaction of starting and finishing something in one sitting really can't be understated, especially something that's physical you can interact with. it can drive you forward to continue making things, which is really exciting!
go forth! make a zong! ⋆。˚🪼🫧˚。⋆
