If you click on the link from the latest update, you might see some pages from the previous one, that’s because a few lines of dialogue were slightly changed.

(Notice how Tera towers over everyone as he cuts through the crowd on page 8 ^u^ )Sorry, It’s a silent scene (ironically!), no dialogue, so it reads pretty quickly haha.

I was both excited and a bit anxious about drawing a scene set in an underground nightclub. I knew there would be a lot of effects, a crowd to draw, etc., and I was afraid the loud, suffocating atmosphere wouldn’t come across properly, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!

It’s funny how "resting your eyes" a little helps put things into perspective: I used to think these pages lacked contrast (which is something I constantly strive for, contrast is what makes a page pop at first glance, and it’s still a big focus for me, I try my best!), but now I actually really like them! I think there’s a nice balance between black and white.

I think I still need to work on the pacing of my scenes, sometimes they feel a bit too fast imo. That’s why I took my time here with Tera entering the nightclub. The fact that we don’t see his face until after the other character notices him adds a more dramatic feel to the scene, and I love that moment!

Sometimes I feel like I’m way too insecure about my work, even though I know it’s genuinely appreciated and has even been recognized and rewarded. I could just tell myself, “Trust yourself, Pico, people have shown they love what you do,” but instead, my brain goes: “A lot of people are reading this now and are passionate about it, you can’t let them down” haha. And honestly it’s a pretty good source of motivation and I'll always be thankful for that.
