FEEDBACK: Thoughts?

So, I was honestly kind of tempted to 'rush through this scene' and basically just skip to the next day, but there's just too much character development and world-building that needs to happen after this 'last stand' and my stories are primarily 'character focused.'

That being said, I do have some cool scenes planned (we will soon get to see just how powerful some of our characters have become).

Anyway:

1. What did you think of Mel's section? Did you like it? Were you surprised by her 'sort of' involvement? How do you feel about the revelations? How do you feel about her reaction to what she saw?

2. Thoughts on the goddess now? Thoughts on Mel's weapon?

3. Thoughts on Sylvia and Alyssa? Things you'd like to see happen, just in general?

So freakin good. Love the suspense you weave into the story, and the relationships feel real with depth and vibrancy.

Trav

I know this is a little off topic. I just wanted to say you are by far one of my favorite authors, top 2. Thank you for writing amazing stories. My impression of the artifacts is that they were created by different dieties, that is were the name came from. That is what I got from the goddess calling it by name .

GsG3n

Yes. This. The staff has a name? And her power?

Jonathan Depenau

I wouldn't say Wren is indifference towards Mel. She just see it is her chance to turn Mel into a hybrid now. Wren sees it as protecting her master and her friend.

The Archer

OK Mel seems to be in a precarious state and Wren's indifference, seems disturbing, particularly in light of the strides she has made in terms of relating to non-monsters. Shouldn't she have told Allister by now about how badly Mel is hurt? However, interesting servant talk, if the ordinary have pieced together the truth, what conclusions have the nobility come to, I wonder?

I just wrote out a length explanation, and then lost it by accidentally clicking on a link. Lovely. Alyssa was most recently mentioned in Ch 64 (italics portion). She is the dark elf songstress that went to the Atacama valley, having a 'hunch' that the Queen would exit the dungeon there, despite entering the dungeon in the north. It's the same exit where Eliza, Allister, and Alyssa all left the dungeon. Alyssa was swallowed up by the dungeon at a very young age and was stuck in there for 10 years (unlike Allister and Eliza only being in there for 3 months). She was only able to survive due to her songstress skills to charm monsters when singing. When she finally left the dungeon, something like 60 years had passed, and both her parents passed away. Alyssa is currently 25 years old, and only left the dungeon something like 1 year prior to Allister leaving it (they were not in the exact same place in the dungeon, so there paths did not cross prior to officially meeting at the end of Book 2). She originally looked normal when young, but while in the dungeon, her skin and hair turned purple. She has the Eavesdrop skill and so knows the secrets of both Eliza and Allister. When there is a challenge for the throne, she returns to the capital on horseback with Sylvia in order to be there for the Queen (both Eliza and the Rootkin sisters take the Gryphon). Since then, she has been in service of both Eliza and Sylvia, primarily as a background character, helping out however she can. Up until this chapter, Allister's primary interaction with Alyssa was around the campfire during the night right before they found out there was a challenge for the throne. Alyssa told Allister that if he were to announce his desire to be with Eliza publicly, that he could do so, even as a human, by accepting to go through the same Trials of the Throne that Eliza went through (Eliza would of course have to accept the marriage proposal). The downside being that, should he fail to last at least three days, then Eliza would be forced to exile him (which is why she herself has never brought it up). Aside from that, Alyssa has spent most of the story as a background character, though she is probably the most notable in terms of appearance, since she is the only 'purple' character in the story.

Can you remind me who Alyssa is? With such a long hiatus, it's hard to remember the characters. Any way we can get a list of the women Alistar is involved with... Besides that, great chapter. Missed this series. I wonder if Ali will have to battle for Mel's hand. I'd like to see Ali show that he isn't the weakling the Oni think he still is.

J Bone

Was it just me or did the goddess state that Mel's staff had a name and was using her power? As for Syliva and Alyssa have appeared to grow closet. Nothing like a passionate threesome and a hot bath to feel better.

The Archer

Good grief, I can't stand teachers like that.

Thouz83

Good catch! I fixed it. Funny story. I once wrote a paper where I misspelled 'debt' as 'dept' and the teacher marked it wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME I misspelled it (on a paper about debt). Needless to say, we had an argument about why I got a failing grade due to a single misspelled word (wasn't a very good teacher).

Author Kaizer Wolf

In the paragraph talking about how much blood a body could hold dumped was misspelled as dumbed. Otherwise great chapter and I agree it was better to not rush to the next morning. I am wondering if Mel's weapon has something to do with the goddess's curse.
